The Senegal semi-final stage of the SPOGOMI World Cup was held in Djida Thiaroye Kaw, near Dakar, in July 2025. Heavy rain fell the day before, leaving puddles in some areas, but the weather on the day of the event was favorable, allowing the competition to proceed smoothly. The participating teams were diverse, including students, members of environmental organizations, local residents, and mixed-nationality teams, creating a vibrant and international atmosphere. Participants worked hard to pick up litter along residential streets, continuing their efforts until the very last minute. In total, approximately 484 kg of trash was collected, including an unexpectedly large number of cigarette butts. The event also drew attention from local media and government officials, making it a meaningful day for raising environmental awareness and strengthening community bonds.

The team, comprised of both locals and participants from outside the area, strategically targeted cigarette butts and secured a well-deserved win.
